Allene (Cox) Dorman

Tabor City, NC

Allene Cox Dorman, age 97, of Tabor City, NC, died Tuesday, November 12, 2024 in her home.  Born August 17, 1927 in Columbus County, NC, she was the daughter of the late Persis Cox and Retha Porter Cox.

She is survived by one daughter, Holly Dorman Falls and husband Stan of Tabor City, NC; three sons, Clark Dorman and wife Tammy of Tabor City, NC, Hugh Dorman and wife Wendy of Longs, SC, and Scott Dorman and wife Jennifer of Tabor City, NC; nine grandchildren and eight great grandchildren.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, John Arnold Dorman; and three brothers, Auburn Cox, Afton Cox, and Atchley Cox.

Mrs. Dorman was a member of the Tabor City Baptist Church where she served as a deacon and Sunday school teacher. She loved gardening, traveling and spending time with family, but most of all she loved the Lord.

Funeral services will be held Thursday, November 14, 2024, at 10:30 AM at the Tabor City Baptist Church with burial to follow in the Myrtle Green Cemetery.

The family will receive friends following the graveside service in the Myrtle Green Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to Samaritan’s Purse.
