Tabor City, N.C.

Mr. Albert “Layton” Brown age 73, died Sunday, December 27, 2015 in his home in Pireway.  Born July 3, 1942 in Brunswick County, he was the son of the late Molly Williamson Hewett and Bert Hewett.

In addition to his mother and stepfather, he was preceded in death by his sister, Inez Hewett of Loris, SC, and brother, Neal Williamson of Tabor City, NC.

He is survived by his wife of fifty years: Linda Smith Brown of Tabor City, NC; two daughters: Melissa Long and husband Jerry of Ash, NC, Michelle Formyduval and husband Israel of Longwood, NC; and three grandchildren: John Long, Breanna Long and Canna Formyduval.

Visitation will be held Tuesday, December 29, 2015 from 6 PM to 8 PM in the Inman Ward Funeral Home of Tabor City.

Funeral services will be held Wednesday, December 30, 2015 at 3 PM in the Pireway Freewill Baptist Church, Tabor City.  Burial will follow in the Pireway Methodist Church Cemetery, Tabor City.
