Mrs. Virginia Watts Long, age 96, of N. Wall St. Tabor City, NC, died Sunday, July 29, 2018, in her home. Born August 3, 1921 in Columbus County, NC, she was the daughter of the late Dow Watts and Edith Soles Watts and the widow of Cortis Eugene Long.
She is survived by two brothers: Don Watts of Tabor City, NC, Ronald Watts of Tabor City, NC; three sisters: Betty June Ward of Tabor City, Doris Grainger of Green Sea, SC, Phyllis Althene of Charleston, SC; two grandchildren: Shayne Taylor and wife April of Garner, NC, Virginia “Ginny” Long of Wilmington, NC; and two great grandchildren: James Thomas Taylor and Kamryn Shaye Taylor.
In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by one son: Danny Eugene Long; one daughter: Linda Taylor; four brothers: Bill Watts, Ted Watts, Dale Watts, Ned Watts; and one sister: Peggy Currie.
Visitation will be held Tuesday, July 31, 2018 from 7 PM to 9 PM in the Inman Ward Funeral Home.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday, August 1, 2018 at 11 AM in the Inman Ward Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will follow in the Forest Lawn Cemetery.
