NAKINA, N.C.

Rev. William Guy Formy Duval, age 92, died Wednesday, September 28, 2011, in the Columbus Regional Health Care System in Whiteville, NC.
Born in Columbus County, NC he was the son of the late Captain Willie Formy Duval and Ora Dorinda Evans Formy Duval.  He was the widower of Reba Lee Stanley Formy Duval.  A graduate of Whiteville High School and Wake Forest Baptist Seminary.   He has over 55 years of Christian service, serving as Pastor of New Life Baptist Church, Happy Home Baptist Church, Nakina Baptist Church, Union Valley Baptist Church, Liberty Baptist, and Myrtle Head Baptist.  He is survived by two sons, Robert Formy Duval of Bladenboro, NC and Arnold Formy Duval and wife, Hilda of Nakina, NC;  two daughters, Nelda Tison of Nakina, NC and Joanne Thompson of Whiteville, NC;  three brothers, Lyle Formy Duval of Whiteville, NC, Wynn Formy Duval of Whiteville, NC, and Glean Formy Duval of Nakina, NC;  five grandchildren, Robin Reavis of Whiteville, NC, Lynette Jackson of Conway, SC, Karla Pirko of Nakina, NC, Trevor Thompson of Atlanta, GA, and Gina Eakins of Apex, NC;  seven great-grand Ayrielle, Dillon, Amber, Grant, Jasmine, Evie, and Graham.  He was preceded in death by one daughter Marvalene Tison, one son-in-law Irvin Thompson, one grandson Timothy Tison, and five brothers Morton, Ulysees, Fay, Foy, Thurl and two sisters Colleen Mason and Thela Carroll.

Visitation will be held Thursday from 6:00pm until 8:00pm in the Inman Funeral Home in Tabor City. Funeral services will be held Friday, September 30, 2011 at 2:00pm in the Nakina Baptist Church by Rev. Hubert Hart and Rev. Daryl Hester, with burial to follow in the Columbus Memorial Park Cemetery in Whiteville.  In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Nakina Baptist Church, 7883 Seven Creeks Hwy, Nakina, 28455.  A service of Inman Funeral Home.
