A wonderful man, excellent pastor and dear friend who helped steer me back into church after years of wandering. My mother still recalls fondly the week he spent hunting deer with my family in western Pennsylvania -- and his dismay that the beautiful section of woods where we hunted was known locally as "Hell's Kitchen." I have thought of him often through the years and am sad to know he has gone. But if anyone ever deserved the title of "good and faithful servant," it was Bruce Lanier.

Mrs. Alma, David, Jeannie and All Family Members: you all are in our thoughts and prayers on this sad day. As you feel the reality of your precious loved one’s passing from this life, we are asking the Lord to comfort each of you and give you the strength needed to handle the void you are facing today, tomorrow and in the days ahead. May it be of great comfort to know that as Mr. Bruce shed his earthly body he was greeted by our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ..
"....to be absent from the body is to be present with the Lord." 2 Corinthians 5:8
Mr. Bruce truly was a man who loved and served the Lord and loved life and will be missed deeply by his family and friends.

Our family's condolences to the entire Lanier family in the passing of Rev. Bruce and especially to his loving wife and worldly angel, Ms. Alma. Words cannot express the loss that we know you are all experiencing, but all of us know that he will be waiting for all us in the Sweet Bye and Bye with his Savior, Jesus Christ. May the memories that each one of you have comfort you until you see him again. A faithful Christian, a loving husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather and friend, he will certainly be missed, but the angels in heaven are rejoicing as he enters the Pearly Gates of Heaven. Jesus is now truly his as he finds his name written in the Lamb's Book of Life and all the promises he so often preached of, he will now get to witness firsthand. May God's eternal peace be with the entire family.
