Mary “Valma” Ray Hardwick, age 86, of 288 Mill Branch Church Rd., Tabor City, NC, died Monday, November 27, 2017 in her home.  Born June 16, 1931 in Columbus County, NC, she was the daughter of the late Zeno Ray and Luna Belle Wright Ray and the widow of Milford Mack Hardwick.

She is survived by two sons: Donald Hardwick and wife Wanda of Whiteville, NC, Michael Hardwick and wife Charlie of Tabor City, NC; one daughter: Rita Hursey and husband Wade of Loris, SC; one brother: Patrick Ray of Tabor City, NC; one sister: Esther Nesbitt of Ashville, NC; five grandchildren; and thirteen great grandchildren.

In addition to her parents and husband, she was predeceased by one son: Jimmy Dale Hardwick, and one brother: Floyd Ray.

Visitation will be held Wednesday, November 29, 2017 from 6 PM to 8 PM in the Inman Ward Funeral Home of Tabor City.

Funeral services will be held Thursday, November 30, 2017 at 2 PM in the Inman Ward Funeral Home Chapel.  Burial will follow in the Forest Lawn Cemetery.
