Mr. Lacy Leonius Gore, age 97, of Clarendon, NC, died Wednesday, March 13, 2019 in the Columbus Regional Medical Center, Whiteville, NC. Born January 13, 1922 in Columbus County, NC, he was the son of the late Daniel Webster Gore and Dora Watts Gore and the widower of Mortielee Parker Gore.
He is survived by two daughters: Linda Gore McPherson and husband Rodney of Clarendon, NC, Sharon Gore Wright of Columbia, SC; twin sister: Louise Sayer David and husband Daniel of Fayetteville, NC; and one granddaughter: Jennifer Ashley Wright.
In addition to his parents and wife, he was preceded in death by four brothers: Lucian Gore, Clayton Gore, Hubert Gore, Thurman Gore; three sisters: Sally Gore Gross, Emma Gore Hasty, Retha Gore Hinson; and son in law: T. Craig Wright.
He was a member of Bethel United Methodist Church and faithfully attended as long as his health permitted.
Funeral services will be held Sunday, March 17, 2019 at 3:00 PM in the Bethel United Methodist Church. Burial will follow in the Bethel Memorial Cemetery.
Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service in the church.
