Mr. Jerry Wayne Watts, “former Tabor City Fire Chief”, age 84, of Brown St. Tabor City, NC, died Tuesday, January 1, 2019, in the McLeod Loris Hospital. Born May 10, 1934 in Columbus County, NC, he was the son of the late Bruce Watts and Luemettie Soles Watts and the widower of Nancy Carol Soles Watts.
He is survived by one son, Michael Wayne Watts and wife Colleen of Plant City, FL; one sister, Janice Watts of Tabor City, NC; two grandchildren, Amanda Michelle Edinger and husband Kris, Jessica Ann Ynocencio and husband Jaye; and two great grandchildren, Colton Michael Edinger and Amelia Grace Edinger.
In addition to his parents and wife, he was preceded in death by three brothers, Jack Watts, Howard Watts, and Maxie Watts.
Visitation will be held Friday, January 4, 2019 from 6 PM to 8 PM in the Westside Baptist Church.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, January 5, 2019 at 2 PM in the Westside Baptist Church. Burial will follow in the Myrtle Green Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Tabor City Fire Department Auxiliary Fund, 113 West 4th Street, Tabor City, NC 28463.
