Horace Worley, age 76, of the Beaverdam community, died Saturday, May 5, 2018 in his home surrounded by his family and friends. Born May 5, 1942 in Columbus County, NC, he was the son of the late William Augustus and Clardia Cartrette Worley .
He is survived by his wife: Mae Cribb Worley of the home; one son: Tom Worley and wife Abby of Chadbourn, NC: one daughter: Melissa Milligan and husband Patrick of Tabor City, NC; one step son: Bobby Delane Edwards and wife Jessica of Chadbourn, NC, two step daughters: Teresa Barnes and husband Dewayne of Chadbourn, NC and Cynthia Nealy and husband Donald of Chadbourn, NC; one sister: Margie Hinson of Chadbourn, NC; three grandchildren: Augustus Junior (AJ) Worley, Haleigh Milligan and Mia Milligan; one great grandchild: Starla Belle Worley; five step –grandchildren: Micheal Edwards, Stephen Nealy, Justin Barnes, Bobbi Canady and Chelse White and three step great-grandchildren: Nolan Bryce Barnes, Adilyn Grace White and Jackson Nealy; and many nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife: Alene Worley; one son: Tim Worley, four brothers, Roy Worley, Troy Worley, Claudee Worley and Cleon Worley. Four sisters: Maddie Cartrette, Retha Cartrette, Vera Norris and Doris Hinson.
Visitation will be held Monday, May 7th 2018 from 7:00 PM until 9:00 PM in Beaverdam Original Freewill Baptist Church.
Funeral services will be held Tuesday, May 8th 2018 at 3:00 PM in Beaverdam Original Freewill Baptist Church, Chadbourn, NC with burial to follow in McPherson Cemetery, Chadbourn, NC.
