Tabor City, NC
Erskine Ozzie Strickland, age 88, of Tabor City, NC, died Monday, September 9, 2019 in the Loris Rehab and Nursing Center. Born May 11, 1931 in Horry County, SC, he was the son of the late Hewey Strickland and Delphia Strickland and the widower of Bertha Mae Caulder Strickland.
He is survived by six children: Mary R. “Bonnie” Ward (Corbett) of Tabor City, NC, Debbie Grainger of Raleigh, NC, Rossie Strickland (Vickie) of Newton Grove, NC, Linda Strickland of Whiteville, NC, Melody Sussie Barnes of Tabor City, NC, and Roger Locklear (Karen) of Tabor City, NC; twenty one grandchildren; eleven great grandchildren and three great great grandchildren.
In addition to his parents and wife he was preceded in death by: an infant daughter, daughter: Brenda Strickland; one granddaughter: Amy Kissinger; brothers: Pete, Baston “Bat”, Brice, Dayton, Glymp, and Hyman; three sisters: Neppie, Jeffie, and Gussie.
Funeral services will be held Friday, September 13, 2019 at 3 PM in the Carolina Baptist Church. Burial will follow in the Carolina Cemetery.
Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service in the church.
