Mr. Ellis Alton Smith, age 78, of Ash, NC, died Sunday, September 15, 2019 in his home. Born September 17, 1940 in Ash, NC, he was the son of the late James Adron Smith and Vergie Duncan Smith and the widower of Betty Jean Todd Smith.
He is survived by one son: Allen Smith and wife Brenda of Ash, NC; one daughter: Crystal Smith of Ash, NC; one brother: Jim David Smith of Ash, NC; three grandchildren: Adam Lowery, Josh Lowery and Zachary Smith; and five great grandchildren: John, Jakayla, Gaston, Eli and Hallie.
Visitation will be held Tuesday, September 17, 2019 from 6 PM to 8 PM in the Inman Ward Funeral Home.
A graveside service will be held Wednesday, September 18, 2019 at 11 AM in the Smith Cemetery, Ash, NC.
