Carlene Cribb Long, age 81, of Delco died Tuesday, November 19, 2019 at Premier Living and Rehab Center, Lake Waccamaw, NC. She was a caring and trustworthy person and all who knew her loved and respected her. She was a member of Livingston Baptist Church in Delco, NC.
She was the daughter of the late Burris Devon and Sarah Beulah Cribb. She was the widow of George Lee Long. She was also preceded in death by brothers George William “G.W.” Cribb, Leamon Devon Cribb and sisters Sarah Jettie Long and Mary Gayle Gore, niece Margaret Day Long and nephews Terry Dale Cribb, Thomas Dale Long, Gary Jerome Cribb and Jonathan O’Neill Cribb.
She is survived by a sister Sylvia Gray Cribb Fowler and husband Jimmy Wayne Fowler of Chadbourn, NC, a brother Larry O’ Neill Cribb and wife Patricia Simmons Cribb of Whiteville, NC, sister-in-law Lillian “Nick” Ward Cribb of Whiteville, NC.; nieces, Theresa Cribb Smith (Robert) of Delco, NC and Lynne Fowler Cribb (Barry) of Chadbourn, NC; nephews, Timothy Cribb (Kay) of Chadbourn, Ricky Gene Fowler of Clarendon, Daniel Gore of Myrtle Beach, SC, Joshua Gore (Karen) of Aynor, SC and Gerald Fowler (Carla) of Whiteville, NC; and numerous great nieces and great nephews. She also leaves her beloved canine companion, Penny. Pallbearers will be Gerald Fowler, Bryson Cribb, Brian Cribb, Patrick McGraw, Antonio Lagunas and Nico Lagunas.
The family would like to extend our appreciation and thanks to her former sitter, Terry Lynn Smith, the guidance and assistance from Lower Cape Fear Hospice and the love and care she received from the staff of Premier Living and Rehab Center.
The home of Sylvia and Jimmy Fowler at 158 I. M. Cribb Lane (off of Old Cribbtown Road) will be available for friends and family to gather.
Funeral services will be performed by Pastor Jimmy Caines and Pastor Kenneth Smith at Inman Ward Funeral Home Chapel on Friday, November 22, 2019 at 2 PM with burial to follow in the Long Cemetery in Nakina, NC.
