Betty Buffkin (Spivey) Campbell

ARCHDALE-

Betty Spivey Buffkin Campbell, 80, passed away on Saturday, March 31, 2018.

She was born September 3, 1937 in Columbus County to the late John & Ressie Spivey. A resident of this area most of her life, she was a member of Hope Chapel Baptist Church. Betty enjoyed going to church, crafts & sewing; especially doing alterations for family and friends. Her true love & passion was spending time with her family. She was a loving wife, mother, sister, grandmother, great grandmother & friend. She will be dearly missed. In addition to her parents, preceding her in death was her first husband James Waylon Buffkin; children, Rhonda Tolbert, Sharon Cowan, Lawanda Murray & Danny Campbell; 3 siblings, Emery Spivey, Linwood Spivey & Hilda McCullum.

She leaves to cherish her memory her husband of 24 years, James (Tommy) Campbell; her children, Regina Buffkin, Jeff Buffkin & wife Christy, Mike Tolbert & wife Stephanie, Jodi Cowan, Ciji Brewer, Kay Hackaday, Johnny Campbell & wife Susan; her siblings, Daphne Buffkin, Willard Spivey, Johnnie Devon Spivey & wife Kathy; 12 grandchildren & 14 great grandchildren.

A service to celebrate Betty’s life will be held Thursday, April 5 at 6 pm in the chapel of Cumby Family Funeral Service in Archdale with Pastor Joe Bare officiating. Her family will receive friends following the service at the funeral home.  A graveside service will be held Friday, April 6 at 2 pm, at Gapway Baptist Church Cemetery in Tabor City.
