Mr. Alonzo Grainger, age 83, of Tabor City, NC, died Saturday, April 6, 2019 in the Lower Cape Fear Hospice and Life Care Center in Whiteville, NC. Born September 22, 1935 in Horry County, SC, he was the son of the late Stog Grainger and Claudie Mae Williams Grainger and the widower of Barbara Ann Mills Grainger.
He is survived by two daughters: Sandra Grainger Smith and husband Ray of Tabor City, NC and Amy Denise Grainger of Tabor City, NC; one son: Kenneth Alonzo Grainger of Tabor City, NC; and four grandchildren: Jonathan Willard, Anna Smith, Cameron Ridgeway, and Kara Ridgeway.
In addition to his parents and wife, he was preceded in death by two brothers: Hoyt Grainger and Linwood Grainger and one sister: Dorothy Grainger Stroud.
Funeral services will be held Monday, April 8, 2019 at 11 AM in the Inman Ward Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will follow in the Spivey Cemetery.
Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service in the chapel.
