Green Sea, SC
“Oh, what a beautiful morning!”
It is with a mix of sorrow and celebration that we announce the passing of Amelia "Millie" Hope Higgins Price, who peacefully went home to be with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on April 17, 2024, comforted by the love of her family.
Born in Green Mountain, North Carolina, Amelia was the beloved daughter of Lester and Maude Higgins. A proud 1959 graduate of North Carroll High School, Millie embraced change throughout her life. Although a native of North Carolina, she spent the majority of her years in Carroll County, Maryland, before retiring from the MVA to the sun-drenched shores of Myrtle Beach, South Carolina. There, she indulged in her love for the beach, fishing, and basking in the sunshine.
Millie was universally beloved for her joyous spirit and loving nature. Fondly known as "Ma Maw," she delighted in sharing stories of her two daughters, five grandchildren, and four great-grandchildren, along with tales of her devoted husband, Jerry. Above all, Millie’s dedication to her faith was unwavering, and sharing the love of Jesus Christ was her utmost passion.
Millie leaves behind a legacy of love, including her spouse, Jerry Arnette of Green Sea, SC; her daughters, Lori Clark of Abbottstown, PA, and Debbie Bosley (Larry) of Hampstead, MD; her brothers, Frank Higgins of Manchester, MD, and Donald Higgins of Green Mountain, NC. She also leaves behind her cherished grandchildren and greatgrandchildren, as well as many adoring nieces and nephews, and her former husband, Joseph Price of Manchester, MD.
Millie now joins her late parents and siblings R.C., Burnard, Paul, and Larry Higgins, Ailene Robinson, Delores Wagner, Catherine Yingling, and Hilda Robinson rejoicing in eternal peace.
Family and friends are invited to pay their respects at the ECKHARDT FUNERAL CHAPEL, P.A., 3296 Charmil Drive, Manchester, MD, on Monday, April 22, from 2-4 PM and 6-8 PM.
A celebration of Millie’s life will take place at the funeral home on Tuesday, April 23, at 11:00 AM, preceded by an hour of visitation.
Interment will follow at Meadow Branch Cemetery in Westminster, MD.
In lieu of traditional remembrances, contributions to the Wounded Warriors Project would be greatly appreciated, honoring Millie's generous spirit.
