CLARENDON, N.C. – Roscoe Beck, age 90, of the Mollie Community, died Tuesday afternoon at 3:06 P.M. (February 6, 2018) at Lower Cape Fear Hospice in Whiteville, N.C. He was born October 31, 1927, the son of the late Charlie Beck of Mollie and Gladys Bennett Beck of Exum, N.C. He was preceded in death by his wife, Lois Jeanette Gore Beck and three sisters, Joann Gore of Eagle River, Alaska; Dulah Belle Ward of Clarendon and Violet Mincey of Shelby, N.C. He is survived by two sons: Gerald Beck and wife Julie of Shallotte, N.C. / Rickey Beck and wife Kay of Chadbourn, N.C., a brother Norman Beck & wife Carol of Summerville, S.C., two grandchildren (Jason Beck and wife Melissa of Frederick, Maryland and Sarah Moy and husband Sonny of Shallotte, N.C.) and four great grandchildren (Addyson, Alaina, Avery and Silas). He was a long time member of Sweet Home Baptist Church in the Mollie Community, where he had served many years as a Deacon. He was also a long time member of the Brotherhood of Masons of Tabor Lodge 563, an active Shriner with the Sudan Shrine with many years as the driver of the famous “Steel Drum Band” and a WW II Veteran where he honorably served as a member of the United States Air Force. Funeral services will be Thursday (February 8, 2018) at 2:00 P.M. in the Inman Ward Funeral Home Chapel, conducted by Reverend Wayne Faulk and Anthony Fipps, with interment in Forest Lawn Cemetery, Tabor City, N.C. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at 1:00 P.M. in the Inman Ward Funeral Home Chapel. This is a Service of Inman Ward Funeral Home of Tabor City.
