Melissa Jay Fowler, age 35, died Thursday, May 12, 2016, in the Grand Strand Regional Medical Center, Myrtle Beach, SC.  Born November 12, 1980 in Marion County, SC, she was the daughter of the late Ronald and Shelvia Jean Buffkin Fowler.

She is survived by one daughter: Jayd Noel Fowler of Green Sea, SC; one sister: Shelley Small of Green Sea, SC; one nephew: Jordan Small of Green Sea, SC; two aunts: Linda Buffkin Sarvis of Tabor City, NC; Louise Buffkin of Loris, SC; and two cousins Krystal Lynn Mercure (Keith) of North Myrtle Beach, SC and Robert Wesley Rogers of Green Sea, SC.

In addition to her parents she is preceded in death by her infant son: Mark Robert Fowler; one brother: Mark Edwin Small; grandparents: Rob and Patsy Buffkin.

Private services were held Thursday, May 19, 2016 at 4 PM in the Inman Ward Funeral Home Chapel with burial at the Gapway Cemetery, Tabor City, NC.
