Irene Norris, age 66, of Whiteville, NC, died Wednesday, January 17, 2018, in her home.  Born April 9, 1951 in Columbus County, NC, she was the daughter of the late Marion Wilson Williams and Sylvia Faye Powell Williams.

She is survived by her husband: Johnny Mitchell Norris of the home; two daughters: Tara Jane Smith Watts of Tabor City, NC, Johnnie Michelle Norris Cartrette of Whiteville, NC; one son: Sean Bassett of Nakina, NC; one brother: Trent Williams of Asheville, NC; one sister: Bonnie Cartrette of Whiteville, NC; two grandchildren; and five great grandchildren.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a daughter: Selena Sue Smith.

Visitation will be held Friday, January 19, 2018 from 7 PM to 9 PM in the Inman Ward Funeral Home of Tabor City.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, January 20, 2018 at 2 PM in the Inman Ward Funeral Home Chapel.  Burial will follow in the Myrtle Green Cemetery.
