Dear Family, Mr. Doc was my mentor and friend. I met Mr. Doc in 1981 at Beth and Bills restaurant inTabor City. I was new in the area as I was recently called as pastor of Carolina Baptist. I was homesick and had a difficult day. As we were talking he shared with me about a tragedy in his life. After he shared his story I felt ashamed. This man of God had been through such a horrible experience and I was concerned about something so little. That day changed my life completely. He taught me so much wisdom that day. Mr. Doc was my encourager and became my Barnabas. Thankful that God gave me such a wonderful Born Again Christian friend. I will certainly miss him. However one day I will see him in Heaven. Looking forward to seeing my brother in Christ. Praying for God to give you comfort and peace. Blessings, Ricky S. Donaldson Pastor of Northside Baptist , Bladenboro N. C.

My prayers, love and deepest sympathy to your entire family. I can still remember the kind words Doc would always have for my mother when we would come into the drug store. I'm sure Doc is rejoicing spending Christmas not only with family gone ahead but with Jesus himself. What a powerful and joy filled realization. God's blessings to you all.

Richard, Phyllis, David and families:
It is with the deepest of condolences that our family sends this posting. Doc, was an icon in the Tabor City area and will be missed for his kindness, his service, his love of his fellow man and for his love and service to the Church and to his Savior and Lord, Jesus Christ. More importantly he will be missed by you as your father. He was a man, short of stature, but tall and immense in his service to his fellow man and to his Lord. He leaves a legacy of love, service and family. May your memories of him burn bright in your hearts and minds and those of your families until you meet again in that heavenly realm. The Tabor City Community has lost a zealous and devoted friend and Heaven has gained a new resident who has been a good and faithful servant to God and man. May the love of Christ Jesus comfort you all in the difficult days ahead and may He bless you with His Peace. We love you all.

Richard and David, I am so sorry to hear of Mr Doc's passing. I always loved seeing him each month when I go in to the pharmacy and hearing stories of Doc's memories my great grandma Carrie Boswell's life with grandaddy Joe (he passed a couple years before I was born, so all I have are the stories that everyone tells me about him). Doc was a wonderful man and will truly be missed! Both of you and the rest of the family will be in my prayers. RIP Doc
