Mr. Harley Henry McDowell age 79 died, Friday, August 28, 2015.  Born June 29, 1936 in Columbus County, he was the son of the late Henry Buck McDowell and Dorothy Hewett McDowell.  In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Clara Lewis McDowell.

He is survived by his daughter: Rockie McDowell Young of Mt. Pleasant; one sister: Shirley Buffkin of Tabor City; and two grandchildren.

He was a Veteran of the United States Army. 

Funeral Services will be held Monday, August 31, 2015 at 3 PM in the Inman Ward Funeral Home Chapel, Tabor City.  Burial will follow in the Sandy Plain Baptist Church Cemetery, Tabor City.

Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service in the chapel.
