Mrs. Esther Nealy Byrd, age 86, died Friday, September 16, 2016 in the McLeod Regional Medical Center, Florence, SC.  Born April 21, 1930 in Columbus County, she was the daughter of the late Burris Nealy and Eva Mae Norris Nealy and the widow of Carl Byrd.

She is survived by three sons: Tony Byrd, Terry Byrd, and Jerry Byrd, all of Tabor City; one brother: James Nealy; six grandchildren; and four great grandchildren.

In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by one son, Larry Carl Byrd.

A graveside memorial service will be held Wednesday, September 21, 2016 at 6:30 PM in the Forest Lawn Cemetery, Tabor City, NC.
