Mrs. Edna McPherson, age 88, died Monday, May 23, 2016, in her home.  Born April 23, 1928 in Columbus County, she was the daughter of the late Hugh Thomas McPherson and Nola Nealey McPherson and the widow of Joseph Robert McPherson.

In addition to her parents and husband, she was predeceased by three brothers: Earl McPherson, Archie McPherson, Tynor McPherson; and one son in law: Randy Meares.

She is survived by one son: Keith McPherson (Willa Dean) of Clarendon; three daughters: Sharilyn Meares of Chadbourn, Sue McPherson (Tony) of Riegelwood, Avis Phillips (Mike) of Bolivia; seven grandchildren; and seven great grandchildren.

Mrs. McPherson was an active member of Beaverdam Original Freewill Baptist Church, Chadbourn, NC.

Visitation will be held Wednesday, May 25, 2016 from 6 PM to 8 PM in the Beaverdam Original Freewill Baptist Church, Chadbourn, NC.

Funeral services will be held Thursday, May 26, 2016 at 3 PM in the Beaverdam Original Freewill Baptist Church, Chadbourn, NC.  Burial will follow in the McPherson Cemetery, Chadbourn, NC.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Beaverdam Original Freewill Baptist Church Building Fund, 2655 Beaverdam Road, Chadbourn, NC  28431 or Lower Cape Fear Hospice and Life Care Center, 206 Warrior Trail, Whiteville, NC  28472.
