Diane Hardie McDowell, age 84, died Tuesday, February 27, 2018, in Tabor Commons Assisted Living, Tabor City, NC. Born February 16, 1934 in Columbus County, NC, she was the daughter of the late Ernest Hardie and Ethel Garrell Hardie.

She is survived by five grandchildren: Tara Boone, T.J. McDowell, James William McDowell III, Misty McDowell, and Tim McDowell; and twelve great grandchildren.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two sons: Timothy Edward McDowell and James William McDowell, Jr.

Visitation will be held Friday, March 2, 2018 from 6 PM to 8 PM in the Inman Ward Funeral Home of Tabor City.

No additional services will be held.
