Whiteville, NC 

Charles Danny Ward "Pete", age 68, died Friday, July 7, 2017, in his home. 

He was the son of Lela Mae Hawes Ward and the late Donnie Pershing Ward and the widower of Barbara Jernigan Ward. 

In addition to his mother he is survived by one son Dylan Pete Ward of Whiteville, NC. Four sisters, Jane Harrelson of  Whiteville, NC. Wanda Jones of Supply, NC, Shirley Price of Nakina, NC., Bonnie Long of Nakina, NC. One step-daughter, Heather Strickland of Carolina Beach, NC. two grandchildren, Madison Whaley and Jacob Whaley. 

In addition to his father and wife, he was preceded in death by a half brother Jimmy Ward. 

He was a veteran of the United States Air Force. 

Visitation will be held Tuesday, July 11, 2017 from 6:00pm until 8:00pm in the Inman Ward Funeral Home.

Funeral services will be held Wednesday, July 12, 2017,  at 3:00pm in the Pine Level Freewill Baptist Church, Nakina, NC with burial to follow in the Ward Cemetery, Nakina, NC.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Pine Level Original Freewill Baptist Church, 2308 Pine Level Church Rd., Nakina 28455 or Inman Ward Funeral Home, 300 E. 5th St., Tabor City, NC  28463.
